Is this correct??? I never get more than 15.8kB/s on my 192k link with Wireless Online.

15.8kB/s gives me 126.4k. I pay for a 192k link and should get 24kB/s. True or false.

Please, anyone out there that are clued up with WISP's correct me if I'm wrong.

I mean, if I only get 126.4k they should charge me for a 128k link and not a 192k link. It's R150 that I can save every month.

I didn't even know Wireless Online had a 192K link as a product offering...

You are correct in your calculations but keep in mind there is always some overhead on TCP/IP, as well as your link is not guaranteed 192K but only a best effort service.

Having said that i feel a download rate of 16 - 19K per second would be acceptable

There's been some changes in my connection over these past 2 weeks.

Browsing speed is 24kB/s.
Download speed is 16kB/s.
And now and then I get 24kB/s when downloading from some websites.

That's what I call good service. :)

normally 50-80kbps is reserved for TCP/IP overheads, so it sounds right to me
