Hi there guys.

Are there any free Wifi Hotspots in and around Parow, Bellville, Brackenfell area?

I've done a search on my Laptop for Wireless Networks but can't pick anything up.

just incase u missed it on the other forum: the mweb building by n1 city - do a scan for the SSID "internet" and connect to it, it use dhcp so the setup of ip will be auto if it's specified on ur network settings 4 ur wifi adapter to obtain ip auto. - it's free. close to the telkom building in bellville ur find a tzone hotspot haven't been there lately but it was free - then there's lot's and lot's of open networks to connect to in ur area so feel free to leech of someone's internet

I don't know. And if they do, just reconnect again. Why are the activity so poor on this forum??

By the way, thanks to Wicked Wireless for all your info and help. I must say, you were really friendly and helpful. If your service is the same then you will grow to be the best Wireless ISP in Cape Town.

I must agree, activity is not that good in this forum, but at least you get some usefull info. I want to put up an AP in Parow (next to Tierberg road/bridge towards the N1) So hopefully there will be an AP nearby to link up to and hopefully it will help you to get a connection.(That obvoiusly depends of your whereabouts).

Well to start of it will only be an ordinary AP.Will look at internet sharing later on.But there will be plenty of shrared files and stuff. Also for me it is a totally new expierience, so I'm very excited to see how this will work at the end.(I'm looking at sharing internet, but I think it will take up a lot of bandwith if too many ppl uses it-but hey, if I can share the net for free, what have anybody to loose!!)It's all about giving ;-)
If you have more info of how this all is put together (software/setup, etc) let me know.I'm open to anything.
