I own a flat on the 9th floor of the Tafelsig building in Loevensetin, just above the N1 at the foot of Tygerberg.

At the moment I live there.
From my window I have a panorama view from stellenbosch to muizenburg

Can I help in any way?
I would love to join the CTWUG and contribute in some way with the elevation of my residence. We could even speak to the manager of the building about putting something up on the roof because atm this space is used for Washing lines and dstv dishes.

Could the right person please contact me regarding joining and the possibility of helping out :)

Toerusting:
Nuus van ons voorsieners se kant is dat MIRO vir ons 'n spesiale aanbod gemaak het op die PTAWUG standaard toerusting - Routerboard 433, R52 radio, 27dbi 5.8ghz Grid en die res van die kabels vir R2330 incl VAT. Dit is so R100 goedkoper as by Scoop. Om kwotasies op enige toerusting te kry: stuur 'n email vir dalton@scoop.co.za of justin@miro.co.za - sę hulle net dat jy van PTAWUG is.

Die pryse op www.scoop.co.za is die pryse wat PTAWUG betaal, MIRO se pryse wissel van week tot week so die beste is om 'n kwotasie te kry.
Die prosedure om toerusting te koop: Kry 'n kwotasie, doen EFT en stuur bewys na die verskoopspersoon, ry MIRO of Scoop toe en tel die toerusting op.

PTAWUG kry 10% "rebate" op alles wat op ons rekenings by scoop en miro gekoop word, daardie geld word dan gebruik om nuwe highsites op te sit en huidiges te onderhou en te verbeter.

Die PTAWUG standaard toerusting bevat 'n Routerboard 433 - die routerboard kan 3 radios hanteer, dus kan 'n mens 3 antennas gelyk hardloop - dit stel jou in staat om na meer as een highsite te konnekteer of om vir ander gebruikers wat nie 'n highsite kan sien nie dekking te verskaf. Dit is dus in die wug-gees om 'n 433 te koop om jou mede-wuggers te help en ook die netwerk uit te brei en verbeter.


Seintoetse:
PTAWUG beskik oor twee stelle mobiele seintoetstoerusting. Indien jy wil konnekteer maar eers wil sekermaak of jy sein het (as jy nie fisies die highsite kan sien nie)... Replace PTAWUG with CTWUG where applicable. More details on CTWUG's Finances (http://finances.ctwug.za.net/index.html#miro).
Testing equipment speak to either WetKit, TheFox, nOs or rellik. One of those should pitch in.

If you have difficulty with translation let us know.

With the above package you can't relay immediately (you are connected as a client node for now), but at least the building blocks are there to expand on your kit to allow for relaying. Relay using a sector (antenna that covers a 90 or 120 degree area) in one direction, add at least another R1000+. I still need to write another "how to" on the kits in detail. The more questions you ask the better we can make the wiki.

I am in that 12 floor building at these coordinates:

18°36'45.51"E
Is this within range of a HS or relay?

The nice thing is that I'm on the 9th floor of the front one. I guess I would be allowed to have equipment in the window or if the management approves, on the roof. I'll see if I can make it to the meeting on Saturday to discuss possibilities.

You sure there is nothing on the roof at the moment? It seems too good to be true!
Speak to the building "super" and find out who the correct person is to speak to about installing something on the roof.
