I would like to start up a wireless AP node for the exclusive use of the CTWUG. I have a nice highsite near the N7 / Plattekloof Road area with good coverage over most of the Table View and Milnerton area. It can also service most of Plattekloof.

What I am looking for is assistance with anything that members can offer towards the project. Equipment, advice and manpower are all needed.

Please indicate if you would like to be part of this project and what you may be able to contribute.

OK I have the following:

1 x (evil) 9dB omni antenna
1 x SL2511CD + Ext2 PCMCIA card (200mW)
1 x wrt54g inside an enclosure with built in 14dB flat panel (Sveasoft firmware loaded)
An assortment of homebuilt POE units
1 x 21dB grid antenna (may be faulty)
lots of assorted antenna cables
A highsite with a 5m mast and dedicated server room

count me in, if i can help in anyway. i have no spare hardware. When you thinking of doing this ?

Count me in to, i may not be able to help with the hardware / installation and i'm not even in that area :( but i'm good with advice and i'm working on a custom version of openWRT for ctwug that will be quite cool when it's done :D Also i have quite a bit of ethernet cable lying around.

2 or 3 people is more than adequate. Equipment is going to be our problem.

the link for plattekoof, monte vista, most of parow, goodwood, botasig and surounding areas is up and running, we must just get together and plan the rest. bellville is in the pipeline

We want to start on Saturday with some of the installation. I am putting in some masts and running lots of ethernet cable. We should be able to get one AP up as well.

Equipment - who has what?

i've got 2x atheros AR5213 a/b/g & 2x senao SL2511 b running in two mikrotik platform ap's & a senao b multiclient ap/bridge
