Hi I am new to the forum. I currently run a small wireless network out of the West Beach (Table View) area.

I have a 5.8 GHz backbone link running from West Beach to just next to the Caltex refinery (about 8KM). I also have some a sector antenna running out of West beach over the Table View area (if you see west1 in your scan that is me!)

I use about 2 Mb of my bandwidth and have plenty spare available (I am running 802.11b/g on the sector and can support connection up to 54Mb). If anyone is interested in linking up to me we can make a plan.

I am still learning what CTWUG is about so let me know how I can help.

i live in table view as well savagedavid, i can't see you on any scans i have done, but this weekend my Mikrotik box with 3 wlan cards is going live. Node is in wood drive, will give it a scan and see.

You should see it easily - my range extends from about Killarney Gardens across to about Milnerton ridge in a roughly 90 degree arc. I am polarised horizontally.

OK I am horizontal. Means you should get better than 15dB improvement if polarized the same as me. Do you have any spare wireless kit? I might have a spare grid lying around...

what a dissapointment: i struggled to whole day setting up the grid (twisting and turning it in every direction) only to find out that the feed is somehow damaged

That sucks - has happened to me before (except it was the connector - at least it was repairable. I have a 21dB grid spare that you could borrow for a while...
