View Full Version : Member's opinion
Hi All
I'd like to get everyone's opinion:
I have a Senao 3054 with a 8dBi omni. It's running happily connecting 2 clients with Senao 3054 with 16dBi Patch antenna's.
What is the best bet to buy for connecting subsequent people? Stick to the Senao's or go for a WRT54G. Thing is what external housings are used - what is best?
Any opinions appreciated.
Hi RedBull
I prefer keeping manufacturer products together ... ??? Just me ...
But .. since wifi has a Telcommunication standard already .. all other wifi enabled manufactured products should be able to communicate with each other ... client to Access point etc ...
I think the consensus with the WRT54 is that it's firmware can be changed or it's potential "unlocked" with other 3rd party firmware ...
External housing - I think if you look at jawug www.jawug.za.net you'll find that the ordinary hardware store electrical\ external weatherproof housing will do ...
I'm just a Newbie ... So wait until u get answers from the pro's ...

generally wifi has a standard, but as far as products working together, some don't. Try what you like, certain products don't work together. Afaik the netgear range have problems working with other wifi hardware. If i was you, i would replace all the client ap's with wrt54gl, they are cheaper than the senoa and have alot more options (firewall, Qos, etc..)
