it works like this, say mufasa have LOS to a high site but u not but u have LOS to mufasa, mufasa can do a wds which will distrabute the signal to you so u can connect through mufasa to the high site

Wireless Distribution System, Allows you to connect two access points to each other and still act as an access point accepting client connections. Both AP's must be on the same channel and have the same wep/wpa keys setup but can have different ssid's.
