Old thread, I know but I'm also from that area and getting my stuff needed to join the WUG. I live close to Cape Gate, where should my antenna point to and which one should I get?

Muffin, I live very close to Cape Gate and so does Rendered, we both broadcast, so maybe you can link to us. YOu can find us both on irc most of the time, and our locations are on the KMZ file

yep I have my WRT with yagi and I'm always game for a scan day, maybe if TheFox still have that 2.4Ghz grid we can use that aswell.

Last night Myself and Craig-S2 manage to connect to each other. I done a scan of the nodes in the area and came up with the following.

Longitude: 18°42'59.28"E

Would anyone be able to tell me if I will be able to get reception and what quality it would be?

I'd like to go ahead and purchase my gear, but would like to confirm if I would be able to connect first.

It would appear that I'm not in the red zone and the NemesisKfn is the closest to me. I'm in the complex just behind Monument Park High School.

Will I be able to connect, as I see Ocsic9 also is not in the red zone and I assume he is able to connect?

Would anyone be able to organise a testkit or something to check if and what type of connection I could expect?

Hi there,

I see you have LOS to Jupiter, but that HS is full as I understand. You also have LOS to node #16 = Dade ; node #80 = Inth13 ; node #27 = Rendered and a few others I would guess.

I would suggest to book the testkit with Lavaboy and do a scan and I would suggest if have LOS to DADE & Rendered to try to connect to one of them.
