hey dude.

THNx for ur suggestion but making a suggestion and nt acting on it is no use.

U actually have to go lobby for use of the building. pointless u suggest a potential site otherwise we all can chirp in and say..hey lets use the twin towers, absa bank, etc

Water Tower at False Bay Hospital

If you look at wind, you can see I already have a sector up covering almost everything the water tower at False Bay hospital in Fish Hoek would cover. Now to get ctwug into Fish Hoek so my sector is connected to the main wug is the issue. I'm busy working on that...

Side note: If there is anyone out there that thinks they have los to my node 2521 in Fish Hoek, whom I haven't emailed. Please drop me a mail. And those of you who never responded to my email, you still can :)

pmurgs, what about triton? Im sure you have LOS to it, the only concern for that kinda link is the affect the sea will have on the link and distance

pmurgs, have you thought of putting up a Mikrotik and a Grid to pick up triton (#700)?

Triton is not allowed big grids, due to it being in an "eco complex" where antennas an such must be hidden out of side. Yes I can pick it up on scan, no I cannot get a big enough grid up to make any sort of reasonable connection.

I am involved with the proposed upgrades in the Strand/Gordons bay, but even if I do get a link there, would like a second one out of Fish Hoek as well, as its not nice to be dependent on just one link being up for access.

I'd offer you Anubus (it's on WiND), which has clear line of site to several of the backbone links and should see you too, but the Helderberg guys don't think it's a good site to develop for backbone purposes.

Go figure.

marais: Interestingly, Europa to TFyre looks bad when looking at the terrain height map between them, but wind says los is good. Europa to Diablox looks very good on wind.

Portcullis: It's easy to look on wind for potential links, but wind doesn't tell you if the person who owns or is admin of the link, is busy with other things or there are other issues which preclude the option of a link being setup. My node in Fish Hoek (2521) seems to have great los to kore, but I have had no luck with my efforts in being able to discuss potentially linking there. Wind does seem to say anubus has los to Kore, but looking at wind, it is possible there could be obstructions in the way. A test would have to be done to confirm los if the parties involved were interested in creating a link. Anubus might not be a great site, as I have heard people voice concerns that there are a lot of other antennas in the area (wisps I guess) which might cause a lot of interference.

yea, interference could be a porb. who has access to anubis? maby you can take a kit up there and do a scan and post image here? so we can see what it looks like :)
