Is the Los really necessary

Hi Guys

Just want your opinion if i should do a test first or not. I am moving to Ottery in the next 2 months and i want to be connected by then. If you check on the CTWIND WiND google maps i sit just below Ikraam (node 399) who is connected to Mercury. I checked that he has clear Los to Mercury with a distance of 5.5km. My Los looks a bit better though. I think he might be on the 5.8Ghz frequency. Not to sure though. From what i gather is that there is no need to do a test on my Los. Should i get the 5.8Ghz CPE?

Who can i get hold of to link me to Mercury high site in Wynberg Military?

I would appreciate your guys input.

LOS is a funny thing, including WiFi. It might look 100% on Wind, but it does not account for trees an buildings.
If you are new to the WUG, come join us on IRC first and find out what your options is.
So far I know, Merc is our only site that broadcast in both 2.4 and 5.8
