This sounds interesting. Not sure how LOS will affect any connection in the area as my location is close to de waal drive and lots of roof peaks around me.

Thanks for the posts. I am not connected to the mesh, currently using ADSL. Be great if you could give me some details on this please? My location is very close to De Waal Drive, therefore I dont have LOS to the school or the bottom of Gardens Centre. What I can see very clearly is the city and the top of Gardens Centre.

I actually bought a Yagi antenna and did some tests. From my place I could pick up access points in Blouberg with clear LOS. The problem anywhere else is trees etc. I work on Roeland St and cant get LOS to my office block.

But, I noticed recently that Gardens Centre has loads of equipment on the root. It would ge great if we could setup a repeater of some sort if most of us can see the top. Just a thought, but no idea yet how to get access etc - perhaps someone living there could help?

I've got a high point opposite the gardens centre on a block of flats where i run a small wisp.i'm willing to let you use it at R 50.
